Ah yes, it's that time again. Time for people everywhere to do or make something special for their valentine. Time again for the calendar to dictate romance to us all. (or at least those who participate) I'd imagine that many will be more creative this year. Maybe a little more thought involved. Perhaps going someplace or having dinner somewhere memorable or meaningful. Maybe renting the first movie you saw together (might have been your first date) Maybe even going back to your parents house to make out in your old bedroom again to see if they catch you yet again (or not). Truly this is one holiday where nostalgia counts big time. Lots of bonus points are rewarded (in various ways) to those who can remember those important moments. Still the flowers and chocolates and cards reign supreme and are often the most "budget conscious" approach to most. It's not supposed to be what you spend though some look at it that way (which is sad in my opinion) Nothing wrong with doing it on the cheap if that's what's working for ya. I still contend that a single flower has as much or more power than a dozen if presented correctly. Yet, it's all about what works best for you. A home cooked meal is a nice tough if that's something you don't do too much (especially if it's something you used to do for her/him. might wanna re-establish that they weren't just being nice by saying they liked your cooking though) A simple trip to get some ice cream seems old fashioned, but it's worked millions and millions of times before. A bottle of wine, some candles and a movie .... (maybe not so much with the friday the 13th flick you picked up the night before but if that's your thing have at it and knock yourself out) Whatever floats your valentine boat. Here ya go. You stash the bottle of wine and candles at home (or in your car or something)You go out for apps and a cocktail, hit a movie then home for the wine candles and throw in some chocolates or their favorite sweet treat. Sounds like a winner. I know I know, me being single means that I have no business even posting this to some but what the heck. (Dont like what I post, you don't have to read it. It's a free country and if you read things just so you can complain about them I fell sorry for you.) So have a happy valentines day everyone and remember that only you can make past memories memorable again.
